Choose around arrival time and group size

Travelers arriving together may prefer one private vehicle. Groups arriving on separate flights may need a meeting window, an airport hotel pickup or more than one vehicle.

Before choosing a van or minibus, give the operator the number of checked bags, carry-ons, strollers and mobility devices.

Know your transportation choices

Miami International Airport lists ground transportation resources including taxis, ride apps, public transportation and connections to PortMiami. Miami-Dade also provides public transit directions through Government Center.

Some cruise lines offer transfers on embarkation or debarkation days. Compare their schedule with a private operator if your group wants a direct pickup or has an unusual flight time.

Confirm the cruise terminal

PortMiami has multiple terminals. Send the operator the cruise line, ship name and terminal information when available. Confirm the exact meeting point for the return trip because disembarkation traffic and pickup rules can differ.

Get the complete agreement

Ask whether airport or port access fees, waiting time, tolls and gratuity are included. Put the pickup window, destination, vehicle category, luggage plan and cancellation policy in writing.
